On the afternoon of 25th Feb, our university’s 2009 opening ceremony of the spring semester for overseas students was held in the meeting room 342 in teaching building I. Vice president Li Zhengxi, the dean of College of Humanities and Laws and head of Center of International Cooperation and Exchanges prof. Guo Tao and other related teachers attended the opening ceremony.

Vice president prof. Li warmly welcomed the newly foreign students first, then introduced the details of NCUT to them and encouraged them to learn Chinese hard so as to contribute themselves to international commercial trade and cultural exchanges.

Prof. Guo encouraged the foreign students to overcome the difficulties and study hard in order to make more progress, combining with the accomplishment achieved by the education of overseas students at NCUT in recent years.

Doctor Wan Deyan, the dean of Chinese Department of College of Humanities and Laws, and Zhang Jinzhong, the manager of HongYe apartment and the representatives of overseas students also made speeches.

The education of overseas students at NCUT develops rapidly in recent years and the number of overseas students increases steadily year by year. In the 2009 spring semester, there are nearly 100 overseas students coming to our university for Chinese studying or academic education. They are from 11 countries, such as Japan, South Korea, Mongolia, USA, Germany, Kazakhstan, Russia and so on.
